Yesterday was the Amazon State school year 7 excursion to Whiting rocks.
We had a very enjoyable time, students all participated well.
Jaci Smith in particular, really got into the swing of things as this photograph shows - making the kitchen her favourite place.
She is to be congratulated, and has volunteered to be cook at our next excursion, on the 27th July to Herring Point. "It is due to Dad no longer having access visits!" she exclaimed. "I get heaps more time at home to cook, which I love!"
This is a map of our destination next week, which gi
ves parents plenty of opportunity to join us for the day. The more the merrier!!The hero of the day was Jake Carter, who despite a week's illness, was still able to complete the obstacle course.
As a tourist brochure states:
"Whiting Rocks is one of the favourite tourist destinations on the East coast due to its sheltered location, great fishing, excellent nature walks and camping facilities that include professional kitchens".
A number of students have posted some highly amusing photographs of the antics of the day, they have invited you to visit their Facebook site, set up for the purpose, and share your comments on the photographs. The Facebook site is: http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/profile.php?id=62734875645.
We are planning to have a rock pop competition with a local school at Fishing Point. I have uploaded the song by Lady Gaga here so that students can practice at home. Please support them in practicing for the big event.
Students have been busy searching for pictures to use in our backing for the rock pop competition, and are saving them for later use in our website as well.
Many thanks for the prepayment for the excursion. Could I take this opportunity to remind the Rose, Collins and Seaforth families of the urgency of the payment? This is my blog link
Best wishes for a great week,
Teacher Tillie
